Real Madrid Castilla defeat Real Oviedo B 2-0

MADRID - In the 16th minute of the match Pedro Ruiz Delgado, the 19 year old forward from Seville scored off a one-two from Jorge Martin Camuñas to get the go ahead goal for Real Madrid Castilla against Real Oviedo B.
The Second Division Group B match took place Saturday afternoon at 4:30pm at Ciudad Real Madrid’s own Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano. Captain Álvaro Fidalgo Fernández scored in the 53rd minute from a penalty shot to give Real Madrid a 2-0 lead, adding to his season total of three goals.
Clouds and 11 degree weather welcomed the 860 fans in attendance to Saturday’s match, lucky for all rain was not an issue. Fans of all ages were in attendance, from young footballers dreaming of the day they too would play on the same pitch to loyal Madristas who follow the club to each match. Supporters of both clubs were heard cheering louder and louder with each passing minute.
Real Madrid Castilla last played Atlético Baleares while Real Oviedo B previously matched up against CF International, both matches ending in a draw.
The final score would believe that Real Madrid Castilla are the dominant team, although Real Oviedo B put up a good fight. Several close shots on goal came from the squad, but in the end they couldn’t get past the Castilla defense.
Pressure was felt as the final minutes counted down, and both clubs were charged with several fouls. The anticipation from Real Oviedo B to make a come back was exhibited on the pitch, but Real Madrid Castilla demonstrated the urgency to hold off their opponent.
Head coach and former Real Madrid star Raúl González lead the young team to a 2-0 victory, after previously concluding a draw and three losses.
Real Madrid Castilla will look to play Internacional de Madrid Saturday December 7th and the following week will face Getafe B at Alfredo di Stéfano.
Next up, Real Oviedo B will play Getafe B Saturday November 30 at The Requexón, followed by Union Deportiva Melilla on Sunday December 15th at Álvarez Claro Municipal Stadium.
