HYANNIS – Joe Yalmokas scored 21 points leading Barnstable boys basketball to a 66-40 win over Dartmouth on Tuesday night.
Yalmokas and Kyle Ruggieri (12 points) had great chemistry in their ability to work and build off each other.
Barnstable was able to maneuver Dartmouth’s defense well by playing a strong inside game. In the final seconds of the first quarter Alex Woolery earned the Raiders’ first 3-pointer.
In the second half, the Raiders were able to expand their game landing 3-pointers from Nick Wilson, J’Adaro France, Alex Woolery and Adam Meizinger.
Dartmouth’s Twan Estella and Ethan Risgin led the Indians in scoring with nine points each, followed by Cason Tripp with eight points.
Dartmouth had a short edge over the Raiders in the first minutes of the game before Barnstable took the lead and never looked back.
Dartmouth played around with its defensive positioning switching from man to a 2-3 zone defense mid way through the first quarter in an attempt to throw off Barnstable’s offensive.
